Aloe vera gel or juice (aloe barbadenis) is soothing and cooling to the skin. Aloe Vera has rapid cell regeneration properties and is good for wounds, rashes, burns and all skin issues. It is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, antiviral, anti-allergy and anti-inflammatory.
Avocado oil (persea gratissima) this thick oil is rich in Vitamins A, C, D & E. Softens and nourishes dry and dehydrated skin and is highly absorbable.
Borage oil (borago officinalis) helps slow down aging of the skin. Helps relieve rashes, irritation of the skin; eczema, inflammation dermatitis.
Castor oil (ricunus communis) a humectant (promotes the retention of water) which is very good for very dry or chapped skin. Gets rid of warts and prevents scars. Castor oil as a poultice is known to dissolve cysts and growths, enhance the thymus gland which supports the immune system. Castor oil helps with various cutaneous (skin) issues such as ring worm and itching.
Coconut oil (cocos nucifera) keeps the skin smooth without making it greasy. Rich in antioxidants and is antibacterial.
Evening Primrose oil (oenothera biennis) rejuvenates skin cells. It is beneficial for dry scaly skin, dandruff, psoriasis, eczema and wounds. Evening Primerose oil prevents premature aging and a nice oil to use in hair oil formulas.
Grapeseed oil (vitis vinifera) is rich in vitamins; especially Vitamin E. Is a polyunsaturated fat and is 68%-76% linolenic acid which is important for healthy skin and important for cellular membranes. Good for all skin types and is odourless.
Jojoba oil (simmondsia chinensis) this oil is considered a liquid wax. Jojoba oil is known as our “skin twin”. Great for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, non-oily but yet very softening to the skin, great for those with sensitive skin. This is not a NUT OIL, and is excellent for all skin types.
Neem oil (azadirachta indica) cold pressed from the neem kernel and is high in oleic acid. Great for skin conditions; eczema, psoriasis, nail fungus. It is antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic and is known to repel fleas.
Rosehip oil (rosa mosqueta) great for aging, mature or sensitive skin. Known to help prevent and diminish or fade age spots, stretch marks and wrinkles. Contains Vitamin C and E giving it anti-inflammatory properties for skin conditions; eczema, psoriasis.
Seabuckthorne oil (hippophae rhamnoides) contains 190 bio active components of which 106 are in oils. This oil is great for inflammatory skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema and psoriasis. Helps promote tissue regeneration. 5% Seabuckthorne oil is added to a carrier oil.
Shea butter (butyrospermum parkii) is also known as African Karite. It is high in linoleic acids; very nourishing to the skin cells and rich in Vitamins A and E.
St. John’s Wort (hypericum perforatum) this dark red oil is very soothing to inflamed nerves (anti-inflammatory); sciatica, neuralgia and wounds where there is nerve tissue damage.
Sweet Almond oil (Prunus dulcus) great overall massage oil for all skin types. Works well on itching and dry skin, is anti-inflammatory and helps with burns. This oil and olive oil are great for infusing fresh flowers.
Vegetable glycerin: naturally derived from plants, is a soothing skin emollient, lubricant and humectant. This helps the skin retain its moisture and to restore natural pH balance.
Vitamin E Oil (tocopherol) an antioxidant used as a preservative in oil blends and salves to prolong shelf life and beneficial for scars and stretch marks.
Wheat germ oil (tritcum vulgare) this oil is good for skin conditions; anti-inflammatory for the pain and swelling of eczema and psoriasis. Helps prevents premature aging and stretch marks.
